150여 명 차세대와 학부모 참석… 리더십·봉사·시민참여 주제 교류

시카고한인회(회장 허재은)가 주최한 ‘2025 차세대 리더십 컨퍼런스’가 지난 8일(토) 시카고한인문화원 비스코홀에서 성황리에 열렸다. 이번 행사에는 약 150여 명의 한인 차세대와 학부모들이 참석해 리더십과 봉사, 시민참여를 주제로 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.
이번 컨퍼런스는 시카고총영사관 후원과 시카고 지역 10개 봉사·문화단체 협력으로 진행됐다. 행사 프로그램은 정보 소개 세션(Resource Spotlight)을 시작으로, 청소년 모국연수 및 장학금 정보를 소개하며 실질적인 정보를 제공했다.

행사 마지막 순서에서는 한인회장 봉사상(55명)과 인증서(37명)가 수여됐다. 최근 대통령 봉사상(PVSA) 시상 체계가 중단된 가운데, 봉사에 헌신한 학생들에게 시카고한인회가 직접 시상 기회를 마련해 의미를 더했다.
허재은 한인회장은 “K-콘텐츠와 한국의 위상이 세계적으로 높아지고 있는 지금, 시카고의 차세대들이 바로 ‘K-Next Generation’으로서 창의적이고 영향력 있는 리더로 성장하길 기대한다”고 말했다.
최은주 한인회 이사장은 “이번 컨퍼런스는 단순한 정보 교류를 넘어, 차세대들이 서로 네트워크를 형성하며 더 큰 꿈을 키우는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 전했다.
김정한 시카고총영사는 축사에서 “차세대의 눈높이에 맞춘 다양한 프로그램이 한인 청소년들이 더 큰 미래를 준비하는 데 소중한 자양분이 되길 바란다”고 격려했다.
